No, WPLytic is not like other analytics services. It is your own private web analytics platform packaged as a WordPress plugin.
WPLytic uses your existing WordPress server and MySQL database to store the data, without sending your data to any external service.
You have full control over your data, and your visitors won't have to load any third-party tracker.
WPLytic is well optimized and runs on the same server and database as your server website.
If your website can handle your normal amount of traffic, it should be able to handle WPLytic too, as it does only a few requests per user session.
The JS tracking snippet is loaded asynchronously, so it doesn't affect the delay the loading of your page.
WPLytic uses around 1MB of database storage for each 1000 sessions tracked.
It is recommended to use WPLytic for websites with less than 1-2 million monthly visitors.
WPLytic was tested and works on various environments: shared hosting, VPS servers, dedicated servers, AWS Lightsail, etc.
WPLytic Multi-site enables you to have your own analytics dashboard where you can track ALL your websites.
It comes with multi-domain overview (see stats for all your domains at once), multi-user system (give different users access to different domains), user permissions, sessions limit per domain and more.
WPLytic Single-site tracks only the stats of the current domain (where the plugin is installed on).
The benefits of the single-site license is that only the data for the current domain will be stored (no cross-domain requests) and that the UI and database are optimized for tracking a single domain
(e.g. there is no need for an extra 'domain' column in the database, so less data stored and simpler queries with faster performance).
Which one should you get?
Multi-site license:
* If you are an agency and want to track all your clients' websites in a single place and be optionally give them access to their own stats.
* If you have multiple webites (be them WordPress or not) and want to see al your stats in one place.
Single-site license:
* If you have one WordPress site that you want to view analytics for.
* If you are an agency and want to add analytics for a specific client's website and give them access to it.
* If you want to avoid any data centralization and keep the data for each WordPress site separated and without sending not send it to a central server.
